SOUL SPACEThe Draycote Group of Churches Soul Space I have been leading Soul Space for about a year now, and have been asked to explain what it is for anyone who has never been , but wondered what it's all about. In practical terms, Soul Space last just under an hour - my promise is that you can book supper in the pub, or arrange to bring home a take-away for 7-30.p.m.! There is no set format - no service or order sheets, no hymns to sing or things to say. There is always music (of varying types), interspersed with silence and thought-for-the-day style words, to give those of us who want it something to think on in the silences. We have had evenings based on the music and prayers of Taize, an icon, poetry, music and Bible readings. The evenings are open to anyone who is open to quiet and meditation with a Christian focus. Which is what Soul Space is - a space and time to 'be' in a world that seems fuller than ever with noise and demands to 'do'. The evening means something different to each who comes, so the only way to really know if it's for you is to come one Friday. We have had anything between 4 and 19 people at the evenings: so there must be some who come to see for themselves but never return, as well as some who come retularly. You will be very welcome but no fuss will be made - we generally arrive and leave in quiet because that is what people want.
Lentern Soul Space dates for 2012 - 2nd March, 9th March, 16th March, 23rd March, 30th March - all at 6-30.p.m., Princethorpe. **** Regular quarterly meetings on the third Friday of the month at 6-30.p.m. in St. Cuthbert's Church, Princethorpe .
