Weddings, Funerals and Baptisms
Weddings,
baptisms and funerals are called “occasional offices” in the church
registers, and are a very important part of the
churches ministry, especially here in our village churches where there
is a strong sense of community and friends and neighbours like to come
and support families in times of both celebration and sadness.
Please remember that, even if you are not a
regular
church attender, I am happy to meet you to discuss weddings or baptisms.
A naming service can be held for those who don’t feel able to make the
vows necessary for a baptism. Baptisms can of course take place at any
age, and normally are held as part of the monthly family service so that
the child (or adult) can be welcomed into God’s family by the
congregation.
